LOUNATA is a name shaped by more than three decades of continuous artistic and professional exploration.
Her story begins in Belarus and continues in France, at the crossroads of musical performance, traditional culture, directing, education and contemporary music production.
Today, LOUNATA creates a musical world of her own, where ancient melodies and ethnic instruments meet electronic aesthetics, the human voice and contemporary rhythm. Her artistic language has grown from decades of experience and from a desire to connect cultural memory with the future.
Anastassia Louniova’s musical journey begins at the age of six, when she enters the Republican Music College of Belarus.
From an early age, music becomes more than a profession: it becomes a way of discovering and understanding the world. This education lays the foundation for a professional path that will gradually extend far beyond academic performance.
In 1996, Anastassia joins the renowned folk ensemble “Dudariki.” Working within the ensemble becomes a formative school of stage performance and traditional music. She travels throughout Europe with the group and performs in concerts, immersing herself in living folk traditions and developing her skills on traditional instruments.
Traditional cymbalum holds a particularly important place in her development as a performer.
In 1999, Anastassia becomes a laureate of an international competition for traditional cymbalum performers.
This experience deepens her connection to traditional culture while laying the foundations for her future search for an individual artistic language.
In 2000, Anastassia enters the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts.
Alongside her work as a musician, she develops her skills in education and directing. Her professional interests gradually move beyond a single discipline: music becomes connected in her work with the stage, movement, theatre, education and visual space.
In 2005, she receives a diploma in stage direction and teaching of artistic disciplines.
Cymbalum, singing, dance, theatre and directing become elements of one artistic vision. This multidisciplinary experience will later become essential to the development of LOUNATA — an artist for whom music is part of a complete artistic universe.
Education holds an important place in Anastassia’s professional life.
Through the creation and development of the “Ethno école” projects, she develops her own approach to musical and artistic education. Her aim is not simply to teach children about traditional culture, but to make it living, accessible and contemporary through direct participation in the creative process.
The “Ethno école” projects receive two state awards in Minsk.
For Anastassia, education therefore becomes inseparable from artistic creation: transmitting knowledge becomes a way of preserving cultural memory, giving children a space for creative expression and building connections between generations.
In 2012, Anastassia moves to France.
This becomes one of the major turning points in her life. In a new cultural environment, she must rebuild her professional activity, find new forms of expression and at the same time preserve her artistic identity.
This experience gradually leads her towards new forms of work at the intersection of art, education, culture and social engagement.
In France, Anastassia creates ART’Espoir, a project bringing together art, culture, education and social interaction.
In 2015, ART’Espoir receives first prize in the “Talents des Cités” competition at the French Senate.
In 2016, Anastassia becomes a laureate of the international ORPHEUS XXI – Musique pour la vie et la dignité project, created by Jordi Savall and supported by the European Union for professional musicians.
In 2017, she receives the Prix Bisontin.
Her participation in ORPHEUS XXI becomes an important part of her international professional experience, opening new possibilities for artistic collaboration and development.
In 2018, Anastassia creates the artistic and cultural project Art Fusion in partnership with Région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and the city of Besançon.
The project brings together different artistic disciplines and creates a space for interaction between music, education, cultural institutions, schools and local organisations.
During the same period, she works for five years as a director at Théâtre Edwige Feuillère, within the “Mois Voix d’enfants” festival, involving more than fifteen schools.
This experience becomes a natural continuation of her multidisciplinary career: music, directing, education and work with large groups of participants come together within a single artistic process.
From 2018 onward, Anastassia performs under the stage name LOUNATA and begins a new chapter of her own artistic music.
The following years mark a further expansion of her professional world.
In 2020, Anastassia participates in an international cultural mission connected with UNESCO, serving as musical director.
She also receives the certificate “Carrefour des cultures et des traditions,” reflecting her work at the intersection of cultures and traditions.
In 2021, her long-standing contribution to art and culture is recognised with the Silver Medal of the Société Académique d’Éducation et d’Encouragement “Arts – Sciences – Lettres” in Paris, where she is honoured as an artiste honorée.
This distinction becomes an important symbol of many years of dedication and commitment to the arts.
Despite an already established professional career, Anastassia continues to learn and expand her skills.
In 2022, she obtains the Diplôme d’État de Professeur de musique from the Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de la Musique Europe et Méditerranée, confirming her professional qualification in music education.
That same year, she completes the “Artiste Producteur” programme at Transversal Studio in Vannes, deepening her knowledge of contemporary music production.
In 2023, Anastassia collaborates with “La Cité de la Voix” in work with primary schools in Haut-Doubs as part of the CLÉA — Contrat Local d’Éducation Artistique programme.
In 2023–2024, she participates in the La Fabrique à Musique programme in collaboration with “Le Moulin” — Scène de Musiques Actuelles du Jura, DSDEN du Jura and SACEM, continuing her work at the intersection of creativity, education and cultural initiatives.
In 2024, Anastassia obtains the Diplôme d’État “Créateur Musical” from the DJ NETWORK School of DJ and Sound in Paris, further developing her knowledge of contemporary electronic music, music production and the music industry.
That same year, she joins the teaching staff of the CPMA d’Annecy music school, where she teaches musical instruments and MAO — computer-assisted music production.
In 2025–2026, Anastassia collaborates with the city of Annecy as part of the “Musique du Monde” project.
All these stages — performance, traditional music, ethnic instruments, singing, directing, education, theatre, international cultural projects and contemporary music production — gradually converge into a new artistic space.
Its name is LOUNATA.
It is not a departure from the past, but its continuation.
Traditional music is not, for her, a museum piece to be preserved unchanged. It is a living source of inspiration — something that can be reinterpreted and transformed into contemporary art.
This is where her distinctive direction, Ethnica Electronica, takes shape.
Ancient melodies, ethnic instruments and rhythms from different cultures meet electronic music, contemporary technology and cinematic sound.
Yet LOUNATA’s artistic world is not confined to a single genre. It moves across Ethnica Electronica, ambient, techno, electronic, pop, dance, original songwriting and cinematic music.
Her compositions can exist as independent works, but they can also be created for stage productions, visual projects, film, documentaries, advertising and contemporary art.
Today, LOUNATA is developing several original musical projects and new albums.
Her work continues to revolve around one central idea: bringing together things that may initially seem to belong to different worlds — ancient cultural memory and contemporary technology, ethnic sounds and electronic music, personal experience and the universal language of music.
The goal is not to follow a particular genre, but to create an artistic language of her own.
A world where the listener does not simply hear a melody, but can feel an atmosphere, an image, a movement and a story.
The journey of LOUNATA is one of constant movement.
Each new stage has become a continuation of the one before it. Each new experience has become material for the next artistic exploration.
That is why LOUNATA today is more than a stage name.
She is the result of many years of work, continuous learning, the courage to begin again and an enduring desire to transform accumulated experience into new art.
LOUNATA creates music that connects times, cultures and people.
